Three more if you don't include the blue dot which is patheticallt trying to pass itself off as a planet.
How many more of these to do???

FINALISTS!!
2010 Sunrise Festival Rising Stars competition
In the “Top 8” for most votes received online

11/09 - No doubt we should have spent our day more soberly reflecting on 9 years since the Twin Towers - but we decided to play at a Beer Festival instead. Glad we did!

HEAT WINNERS & FINALISTS!!
4th October (Shepton Mallet), 24th October (Glastonbury) - Another nice write up in The Journal. It seems we came right out of left field in the heat. The final wasn't so successful but that's wgat you get when you depend on a cheeseburger!
Mid-Somerset Battle of the Bands 2010

Wessex Beer Fest 2010
(Woody at work!)

28th August - Festival of the Quiet Mind , Exmouth. Andy's first performance with us. OM..........

Included on their
compilation CD.

FarmFest 2010 - Rocked on hard as always at this small festival in the heart of Somerset.

Advert in the Frome Times

Frome Times (May 2009) - I didn't even know they'd done this until Woody saw it in a local paper. Anyway, thanks to Anna from the Piano Bat at the Old Bath Arms where we like to play every few months. Come along if you're in the area.

Award for Best Guitarist
Mid-Somerset News Battle of the Bands 2009 - Quite a nice write up in The Journal about this one. Apparently Woody and I came a very close 3rd. Most appreciated was the Competition Award for Best Guitarist!

Open air music event in Crediton Town Square, Devon

Studio 69 Crediton Music Afternoon - Thanks to Joseph Sturdy from Studio 69 for organising this. It was a clear day in September and there is this really cool pub right next to the town square which is packed with everything you can imagine. (Fair enough - perhaps not everything and DEFINITELY NOT any of THAT!!). Looking forward to future events in 2010.

BBC Somerset Sounds Radio Morning Show with Emma Britton - a ten minute interview (avec Woody) with a live performance of “Did She Wake You Up?”.

FarmFest 2009 - The first festival with Woody. And it went rather well. Anyway, Peter was impressed and has asked us to return in 2010. (No - not THAT Peter; the other guy....)
Priddy Folk Fair 2009 - So what if it was the open mic stage. We went down a treat and had a great time. Thanks to Cathy and John for running it.

Woody Woodward
Joined up with Woody Woodward, multi-instrumentalist, sound engineer, instrument technician. Quite a catch!

Glastonbury 2008 - Saturday on the Avalon Cafe Stage. I even have the event list poster stuck to my studio ceiling (if proof be needed). There was also a video taken but the cameraman seemed more interested in the waste tanker that was working it's way (rather noisily) up the muddy path. Good footage of a waste tanker - if you're into the kind of stuff.

Glastonbury 2008

“a solo effort”
Released May 2008

"Getting Warmer" was my first effort and contains songs like "It Don't Matter" and a rather ripping spoof called "George". Nil point for guessing which George. People complained that they couldn't get the tune of their heads for a week which pleased me no end.

BBC Somerset Sounds Radio - a five minute phone interview with Emma Britton.

Oxjam 2007 in Exeter. My friend Stone took the photo. He did the photoshoot of The Who at Glastonbury 2008, don't you know! I was honoured that he felt I was worthy.

Open mic nights; monthly pub gig; charity events

Wattsfest 2007

Wattsfest 2007 was the first festival since playing at Owen Sound in Ontario back in 1980. I can't remember how many people were in the audience but I think I spotted another one just outside the tent.

First forays into home recording on PC.
Researching recording, mixing and mastering.

OK - this is DEFINITELY a later photo but it captures the creative mood at the time. Soon to emerge from the sloth - I can tell you!

the millenium ......

2001 - First gig in years
(King’s Head, Shepton Mallet).
Originals and other Canadian artists only, eh.

Sang in a choir at the Royal Albert Hall ...... once.

Most time and effort was spent with the family, in the day-job
or learning how to use a computer. That’s it, really.

Regular busking in Bristol.
Solo performances in pubs, clubs and restaurants.

My Suzuki GP125 and I were (fortunately) inseparable. Until 1996 when I slipped on a cow pat.

Singer and co-songwriter in Radio5 and later TakTakTak, a funk-rock group which played around Bristol, receiving favourable mention in Venue magazine.

Moved to Bristol, England

Solo performances in Toronto.

Siddhartha. Hesse. Weird. Wonderfully weird.

Performance at the Owen Sound Folk Festival (Ontario)

My first guitar. It still works, too!

Busked regularly in London Underground.
Performances at the Diamond Dive, Tottenham Court Rd.

Now - this was a bit of an eye-opener

First gig at school in 1978 (with Dave Platt on piano)

"Mind the gap"
wodehouse
Always a classic - always a favourite

Began guitar lessons at 15

A bit pudgy but nothing to have to worry about until - well - now, actually.

Tried piano lessons.
I really tried - honestly!

Not great literature - but it was a start.

Watched singer-songwriters perform at a music coffee bar in Yorkville, the hippy district of Toronto.
Dig it!

Sang in school choirs

“I saw John and Yoko in a limo in Toronto”

"I know N-O-T-H-I-N-K!"
Get Smart. You know, Agent 99; the cone of silence; Laribee - GET SMART!!

Got first guitar. Talents wasted on discerning audiences!

Laterally mobile ....
The humour starts here.
My poetry may not have developed much beyond this - but it's still wonderful.
Guess who!!
